It started with a swipe and a coffee. One date snowballed into a dozen and they quickly bonded over great food and an unhealthy amount of anime. Michael's still coming to terms with the fact that Nicole's seen more than he has.

A few months in, running late for date-night, Michael confidently hugged the wrong person at a restaurant. Nicole watched the whole thing from across the room, laughing both in disbelief and horror. She kept him anyway.

Date nights slowly became nights in - jajangmyeon from Yang Tze River, weeknights on the couch, and the feeling that everything was exactly where it was supposed to be.

They explored Europe, survived having their luggage stolen between Madrid and San Sebastián, and explored Japan, and on a quiet afternoon on Naoshima, beside Yayoi Kusama's giant pumpkin, Michael asked Nicole to marry him.

Everything just felt right… and still does.

They can't wait to celebrate with the people they love most.
